A working definition of Grace
Grace is the work of the Spirit in the life of an unbeliever, accessed through faith in Jesus Christ, which continues in the life of the believer, to take one beyond a place of mercy to a place of undeserved blessing, intimacy, and power in the Holy Spirit. Apart from the cross, grace is the active spiritual component which delivers a person from the kingdom of darkness into the light of the kingdom of His beloved Son. Indeed, it is only by an act of grace on the part of the Holy Spirit that we are able to recognize our need for the cross and, when empowered by grace, to begin to yearn for it.
